[edit] Summary
The Microsoft Windows 16-colour VGA (640×480) mode palette. This was the default palette for the earlier versions of Windows; it is now only the last resort palette when the graphics hardware has no driver for Windows. To the left are the Red, Green and Blue intensities in percent, and to the right the Intensity, Blue, Green and Red flags signalling the particular colour in the palette.
[edit] Orthopraxy
For any PNG screenshot from Microsoft Windows in VGA mode, it is recommended to add a gAMA chunk with a value of 45455 (hexadecimal B18F), an sRGB chunk with rendering intent 1 (relative colorimetric, which is the best for most screenshots) and a pHYs chunk with a value of 3780 for both width and height in pixels per metre (giving 96 dots per inch, the default resolution of Windows), and optionally a cHRM chunk with sRGB values. Assuming 8 bits per sample, the colours should be checked to have intensity values of 0, 128 (hexadecimal 80), 192 (C0) or 255 (FF).
