Wilson da Silva Piazza

Wilson da Silva Piazza , surnamed Piazza, (born February 25, 1943 in Ribeirão das Neves), was a football (soccer) player from Brazil. He played as defensive midfielder and centre-back, in particular with Cruzeiro E.C. and the Brazilian national team. He won the World Cup 1970.

With Cruzeiro E.C. he won ten times the Campeonato Mineiro (Minas Gerais State championship), as well as the Copa Libertadores and Taça Brasil.

He played 559 games with Cruzeiro E.C. and scored 39 goals.

Piazza has 66 caps (15 non official) with the Brazilian national team, his first one in 1967.

He was a member of the Brazilian national team that won the World Cup 1970. He played also during the World Cup 1974.

He received the "Brazilian Bola de Prata" (Brazilian Silver Ball) award in 1972.
