Willy Adolfo Topp Bravo (born March 4, 1986 in Temuco, Chile) is a Chilean footballer who plays as striker for Bradford City in England's League Two.

[edit] Career

Topp played for Universidad Católica in his native Chile from the age of 11. He also had loan spells at Deportivo Temuco and Club de Deportes Puerto Montt but moved to England in September 2007 after being offered a trial with Bradford City.[1]

After scoring in his first trial game for the reserves against Coventry City on September 19,[2] manager Stuart McCall decided to buy Topp. Topp's protracted move took nearly three months to complete, after first a disagreement between the clubs,[3][4] then a hold-up with the FA,[5] before Topp was signed for £35,000 on December 11, 2007—the first time City had paid money for a player since Andy Tod in 2001.[6] He made his Bradford debut as a second-half substitute in a 3–1 defeat to Hereford United on December 29, 2007.[7] His first start came a month later when he made one goal and nearly scored another as Bradford defeated Shrewsbury Town 4–2.[8] It was the first of four successive games in all of which he was substituted during the second half before he was diagnosed with a muscle-tightening condition.[9] In March 2008, Topp visited a medical specialist to prepare for an operation on his thigh, so that he could be ready for the 2008–09 pre-season.[10]

Topp was involved in the senior Chile national team setup in 2003, and has represented his country at under-17 level.
