[edit] History

The mall opened in August 1982 on the site of Willow Grove Park, a popular amusement park in Willow Grove during the first half of the 20th century. The tables in the food court feature designs with postcards and other artifacts from the former amusement park. In the early 2000’s, the mall underwent a major renovation which included the addition of Macy’s as an anchor, the construction of a parking garage adjacent to Sears and the food court, and the addition of a carousel at the third floor entrance opposite the food court. In 2006, Strawbridge’s closed, with the upper floor becoming home to The Cheesecake Factory in Fall 2007 with other new stores planned and the lower two floors planned to open as Boscov's in Spring 2008.

[edit] In popular culture

The outside of the Willow Grove Park Mall was seen on the television show 'Til Death in the episode "The Ring", which first aired on September 21, 2006.
