Willie Paton

Willie Paton is a Scottish former footballer who played for both Rangers. He played as a striker. He should not be confused with his namesake William J. Paton, wing-half who played for Motherwell around the same time.

Paton joined Rangers from junior side Kirkintilloch Rob Roy in 1947. During his spell at Ibrox he made 109 League appearances and scored 38 goals. He was part of the 1948-49 treble season. He collected two League championships, one Scottish Cup and a Scottish League Cup winners' medal.

He left Rangers to join Ayr United in 1957. He was at Somerset Park until 1962 before leaving, having made 114 league appearances and scoring 12 goals.
