Willie Joe Garr
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Willie Joe Garr, was a character on the popular television series Dallas, played by John Ashton, (1978-1979). The part of his business associate Jeb Ames was played by Sandy Ward in all but one of the six episodes the duo appeared in.
J. R. Ewing double crosses the team of Ames and Garr with a forged copy of his father's (Jock Ewing) will, they entered into business deals based on the "Red File". (Ewing land drilling rights and the fact that they would share in the profits from the oil drilled off Southfork Ranch following Jock's death.) The Red Files are highly confidential files and documents which J.R. Ewing inherited when Jock appointed him President of Ewing Oil upon his retirement, the majority of them Bobby Ewing has access to but in the case of J.R.'s major dirty double crossing deals he keeps those files hidden from the other Ewings.
Miss Ellie Ewing's father, Aaron Southworth, stated in his will that no one would ever be allowed drilling rights on Southfork Ranch, a clause in which Jock also included in his will. Ames and Garr were always nervous and suspicious of their deal with J.R. but kept going into deals with him, he had many ways of tricking them into believing that the faked will was legit. Willie Joe and Jeb never found out for sure that they had been led on by J.R., they ended up in prison for the murder of Julie Grey (Tina Louise) in which Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) was unknowingly but conveniently framed for. Senator William Orloff is forced to resign his senate seat because of the file that Julie Grey gave Cliff Barnes.
