Willie Brown, Jr. (November 24, 1944April 21, 2006), was sentenced to death on November 15, 1983 by the Martin County, North Carolina Superior Court for the March 6, 1983 murder of Vallerie Ann Roberson Dixon.

Valerie Dixon, 29, was reported missing on March 6, 1983 from the Zip Mart (now Chicken Kitchen) in Williamston, North Carolina where she worked the late-night to early-morning shift. She was found later; she had been shot six times in the back of the head. When police stopped Brown he had a pistol and a bag of money, from the Zip Mart, and he was also driving Dixon's car.

After several last-minute attempts by his lawyers to stay his execution failed, Brown was put to death on April 21, 2006 at 2:00 a.m. and was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m.
