[edit] History
Williamsville North High School was built in 1969 becoming the Williamsville Central School District's second high school. Williamsville South High School was the first high school in the district.
In February 2006, Dr. William Krone announced his retirement as principal effective August 1st, 2006. His successor, Mr. Robert B. Tubbs, was the former assistant principal of Mill Middle School, also part of the Williamsville Central School District. Then in June 2007, after only one year on the job, Tubbs announced his resignation, effective July 11, 2007. Former assistant principal Petrina Neureuter would later take over as principal. One famous graduate of the school was Jeremy Perkins, a scientologist.
[edit] Sports
The Williamsville North Hockey Team coached by Bob Rosen, failed to make the state tournament in 2008 for the first time in 11 years, due mostly to the fact of losing key seniors, and having an abundance of sophomores and freshmen on the team to try to carry the load.
In 2006, the boys cross-country team won the Section VI Championship under the guidance of Coach Greg Stang.
In 2003 the Varsity Cheerleading Squad took 11th place at the AmeriCheer Nationals in Disney World, along with many other local titles.
Williamsville North High School has also been phenomenally successful in New York DECA in recent years, having two different state officers in as many years. Jeff Long and Andrea Berry served as Parliamentarian and Historian respectively in 2005-2006, and Jeff served as the New York DECA President from 2006-2007
[edit] Food Fight
On June 12 2008, at approimately 11:20 P.M. a large food fight erupted in the freshmen-sophomore cafeteria. The fight started when a student threw a piece of food at the table next to his/hers. A student at the receiving table proceeded to take a large handful of tuna fish, stand up, and send the projectile across the room. The shocked students and monitors, were unsure what to make of this, until Dominic Marinaccio shouted "Food Fight!" This led to food, milk cartons, and other aparatuses propelling through the air. The fight was estimated to have lasted in between 1 and 3 minutes. Witnesses and participants say almost every table was involved, while others were hiding, and taking cover. The purpose of the food fight was said to be a form of rebellion against the North administrators, who the students claim "Do not control us." At least 2 students, one of them the tunafish thrower were later apprehended and possibly suspended. The administration claimed to have never seen anything like this as long as they have been a part of Williamsville North. It was a big step for the Classes of 2010 and 2011 who will never be the same again.
