William von Eggers Doering

William von Eggers Doering (born 22 June 1917 in Fort Worth, Texas) is a Professor Emeritus at Harvard University and the former Chair of its Chemistry Department.

He is known in the field of organic chemistry for his work on quinine. Some people think he should have been awarded the Nobel Prize for this work.[citation needed]
