[edit] Life

He was possibly related to Hugh de Puiset bishop of Durham, who he served before 1194. He probably came from Loir-et-Cher in France.[1] He was a subdean of the diocese of Lincoln by March 22, 1194.[2] He was named precentor of Lincoln in 1197, in succession to the medieval writer Walter Map.[3]

He was elected to the see of Lincoln about July 6, 1203 and consecrated on August 24, 1203[4] at Canterbury.[1]

He died on May 10, 1206.[4]
