William Wright (cricketer)

William Wright (February 24, 1909 — August 12, 1988) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who represented Derbyshire during the 1932 season. He was born in Danesmoor and died in Poole.

Wright made his debut for Derbyshire against a team of touring Indians in August 1932, in which he batted competently before being bowled out for 23 in his debut innings.

Wright played in his first and only County Championship game during the 1932 season, which Derbyshire won by an innings and 123 runs, thanks to a batting collapse from team-mates Northamptonshire, spearheaded by Test cricketer Leslie Townsend, who picked up eleven wickets in the match.

Wright was an opening order batsman.
