William Rosen

William (Bill) Albert Rosen (born September 12, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American bridge champion.
William Rosen was the youngest champion to win the von Zedtwitz Life Master Pairs ever in 1953 [1] and this impressive achievement made the pages of Life Magazine [2] in August 1953. He won the Wernher Open Pairs in 1952. He won the Bermuda Bowl in 1955 [3]. He won the Spingold tournament twice in a row, in 1953 and 1954. He won the Grand National Teams in 1978. In 1980, he won the Mitchell Board-a-Match Teams tournament. He won the McKenney Trophy which the American Contract Bridge League gives to the player earning the most master points in a calendar year
In 1983 Alan Truscott of the New York Times called Bill Rosen "one of the greatest names in the game." [4]
He worked as an options trader at the Chicago Board Options Exchange before retiring in 1994. He lives in Highland Park in Illinois with his wife Eunice Rosen.
