William Rigley (March 24, 1852 — April 15, 1897) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He was born in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.
Rigley, employed as a blacksmith, spent the majority of his career at Derbyshire, where he played between 1873 and 1882. He began playing regularly for the team in 1875, before securing a permanent place in the Derbyshire opening order in the 1876 season.
He also joined a team of professional Players on an Australian promotional tour of England during 1878 and 1880, before 1881 became his final uninterrupted season of first-class cricket. By 1881, he had four young children, and family duties, along with a career as an enginesmith, began to take precedence over his cricketing career.
After his retirement, he became a first-class umpire, and umpired for three seasons until 1884. He died in Nottingham at the age of 45.
