William R. 'Bill' Sharpe, Jr. is a Democratic member of the West Virginia Senate, representing the 12th District since 1984. He is currently President Pro Tempore, serving since 1990. He was Majority Whip from 1972 through 1980 and was a member of the Senate from 1960 through 1980.
