William Preston Taulbee

William Preston Taulbee (October 22, 1851 – March 11, 1890) was a US Congressman from Kentucky in the late 1800s. Taulbee was shot by Charles Kincaid on February 28, 1890 in the United States Capitol and died 11 days later. A stain on the marble staircase where the shooting took place remains to this day and is rumored to be Taulbee's blood.
