William P. Robinson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

William P. "Bill" Robinson is the current president of Whitworth University, an institution of higher learning located in Spokane, Washington that offers bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of academic disciplines. Before coming to Whitworth, Robinson was the president of Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana from 1986-1993.

Bill Robinson received his B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa, M.A. from Wheaton College, and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

He can be found driving around the Whitworth campus on his bicycle responding to students calling out 'Hey B-Rob!'. "B-Rob" is known to throw a mean Christmas party with hot apple cider, rockin' piano music, and table-top lampshade dancing. He has been at Whitworth since 1993 and has seen the enrollment double, the endowment quadruple and the campus undergo a transformation.

Bill is also the author of a book, titled Leading People from the Middle: The Universal Mission of Heart and Mind.

B-Rob, however, should not be confused with the challenge-league Ultimate Frisbee team, the eponymous "Team Bill Robinson."
