William O'Donnell

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wiliam O'Donnell (died 4 April 1947) was an Irish politician who served for four years in Dáil Éireann.

He was first elected in the 1943 general election to the 11th Dáil as an independent TD for Tipperary.[1] In the 1944 general election, he was returned to the 12th Dáil as a Clann na Talmhan TD, but died in 1947. After his death, the by-election for his Dáil seat was won on 29 October 1947 by the Clann na Poblachta candidate, Patrick Kinane.

  1. ^ The Oireachtas Members database records O'Donnell as a Farmers' Party TD in 1943, but this seems improbable, since that party had been dissolved in the 1930s. He is listed on ElectionsIreland.org as an independent.
