William Muir was the seventh head college football coach for the Northern Illinois University Huskies located in DeKalb, Illinois and he held that position for three seasons, from 1923 until 1925. His career coaching record at Northern Illinois was 12 wins, 9 losses, and 2 ties. This ranks him 11th at Northern Illinois in total wins and eighth at Northern Illinois in winning percentage.[1] He also served as the school's men's basketball coach.
