William McMinn (1844 - 14 February 1884) was an Australian surveyor and architect, based in Adelaide.[1] He is best remembered for his work on the first building at the University of Adelaide, the Austral Hotel in Rundle Street, and the Vice-Regal summer residence at Marble Hill.[2] Other well-known buildings which he helped to design include the main building at Prince Alfred College, the Mount Breckan mansion at Victor Harbor,[3] the original wing of the Women's and Children's Hospital, and the Adelaide General Post Office.

McMinn was also involved in the ill-fated expedition surveying of the area around the Adelaide River, and later in the surveying of the overland telegraph from Port Augusta to Darwin.
