William J. Fishman

William J. Fishman is a British academic. He is the author of several books about the history of the East End of London. He is concerned with the social, political, and economic life in the slums of the East End (where he still works and teaches).
He was made an honorary fellow of Queen Mary, University of London in 1999. He is currently Visiting Professor to the Centre for the Study of Migration at Queen Mary. You can read his experiences of growing up in the East End of London by clicking on the link below
