William Harmer

William James Harmer (born: October 15, 1872 died: September 9, 1947) was a politician from Alberta, Canada.
William was appointed to the Canadian Senate on the advice of Robert Borden, his appointment was made to satisfy the Unionists coalition. The appointment especially angered Richard Bennett who was originally supposed to get the appointment, but also very much apposed the parliamentary coalition.
William served in the senate for many years, he was appointed on February 5, 1918 and served until his death on September 9, 1947.
