William H. Hudnut III (born October 17, 1932) was a four term Republican mayor of Indianapolis from 1976-1992. He also represented the Indianapolis area in Congress from 1973-1975. He is also an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church and acted as the senior pastor of Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.
Ironically, the man whose negotiation with then-Colts owner Robert Irsay brought the Indianapolis Colts to Indianapolis from Baltimore now lives about thirty miles from the Baltimore area. After his tenure as Indianapolis mayor, Hudnut also served as the mayor of Chevy Chase, MD.
