William Gibson (1815January 1, 1890) was a Canadian politician.

Born in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, Gibson came to British North America and settled near what is now Dundas, Ontario. He was elected to the Canadian House of Commons in 1872 as an Independent Liberal defeating incumbent John Sylvester Ross in a two candidate contest. Ross who was a member of John A. Macdonald's Liberal-Conservative faction. Gibson was re-elected in 1874 representing Dundas electoral district. He retired from office at the subsequent election.
