William Coverdale

William Coverdale was a first class cricketer who played two matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in June 1888.^{[citation needed]}

He was a wicket keeper and took two catches in his two matches, against the touring Australians and Kent. His batting was less than successful, with two runs in two completed innings. Yorkshire saved the match against the Australians, scoring 344 for 7 after being forced to follow on in the wake of George Bonner's hard hitting hundred. Kent were also forced to follow on in his final match, but again good batting secured them a draw.

Born on July 8, 1862 in Pickering he died on September 23, 1934 in Bridlington aged 72.
