William Claxton is a photographer and author born in Pasadena, California in 1927. His works include a book of photographs of Steve McQueen, and Jazz Life, a book of photographs depicting jazz artists in the 1960s. In his earlier years, he took many photos of Chet Baker.
Most noted for his photography of jazz musicians[citation needed], Claxton also photographed celebrities and models. He married model Peggy Moffitt in 1960. They have one son. (Christopher M. Claxton, born in 1973) William and Peggy are still together and currently reside in Beverly Hills, California.
