William Cavendish, Earl of Burlington
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
William Cavendish, Earl of Burlington (b. 1969) is the son and heir of the 12th Duke of Devonshire. He was styled Earl of Burlington before his father's succession to the Dukedom of Devonshire, and has not assumed the title Marquess of Hartington as have previous heirs to the Dukedom.
Lord Burlington, who was educated at Eton College, is a photographer, who has studied photography under George Lewinski[1], and professionally appears under the name Bill Burlington. He is said to take a more public role in the running of the Chatsworth estate, the family seat, than his father. The next in line of succession to the Devonshire dukedom is his distant cousin the Lord Cavendish of Furness.
On 23 December 2006 his engagement to the former model, fashion editor, and stylist Laura Montagu (former wife of The Hon. Orlando Montagu, younger son of the 11th Earl of Sandwich) was announced in The Times. The couple married in March 2007, but the wedding was not announced until early August.
