William C. Redfield (March 26, 1789 - 1857) born in Middletown, Connecticut[1]
First President of the AAAS in 1848 [2][3]
He is known in meteorology for his observation of the directionality of winds in hurricanes[4], though his interests were varied and influential.[5]
