- This article is about the XVth century Bishop of Norwich and Lincoln. For the XIVth century theologian, see William of Alnwick.
William Alnwick was an English Catholic clergyman. He was Bishop of Norwich (1426–1436) and Bishop of Lincoln (1436–1450).[1]
He was Archdeacon of Salisbury before being named Keeper of the Privy Seal on December 19, 1422. He had custody of the seal until February 24, 1432.[2]
He was nominated to the see of Norwich on February 27, 1426 and translated to the see of Lincoln on September 19, 1436.[3]
While bishop he built the east wing of bishop's palace at Lincoln, with chapel and dining-parlour and a gateway tower.[4]
He died while Bishop of Lincoln on December 5, 1449.[5]
