Wilfred Gore-Browne

Wilfred Gore-Browne was the Bishop of Kimberley and Kuruman from 1912 to 1928[1]. He was born on 6 May 1859 and educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge [2]. Ordained priest in 1882 his first post was as Curate at Pallion. Further experience was gained in South Shields and Darlington before a posting to South Africa. As Rector, then Dean of Pretoria he was instrumental in setting up fledging churches[3]. Promotion to the Episcopate came in 1912 and he died in post on 15 March 1928.
