[edit] Reverend zen

I did not see a specific notice at http://www.reverendzenmusic.com/musicians.htm so I assumed that it was copyrighted text by default. Please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for help on getting appropriate consent from the owner of that website to use the text there. What do you mean by "I am a client of Jack Evans and have been asked to spread the word of his music." ? --Geniac (talk) 00:57, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Jack Evans1.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Jack Evans1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Speedy deletion of Reverend zen

A tag has been placed on Reverend zen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Polly (Parrot) 19:42, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow or move it unilaterally while discussion about it is underway, as you did to User:Willisis2. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. [edit] MILF

Hi. Why did you remove the meaning "Mom I'd Like to Fuck, a sexual term for an attractive mother/elder"? It ain't pretty, but it's true, and widely used... -- Duesentrieb-formerly-Gearloose (?!) 11:11, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

You said: I removed it because it is not supported sufficiently and does not seem relevant to material that should be on Wikipedia.

Hm... for the first point, do a google image search (well, maybe, don't...) -- for the second... what is "material that should be on Wikipedia" in your oppinion, then? It's a widely used term and a sizable part of the sizable online porn industrie. I wouldn't even be surprised if we'd get a separate article about that (we have one for about every simpsons character and episode, no?) -- not that i'm eager to see it, but it's well in scope IMHO. "I don't like it" is not an argument for "it should not be on Wikipedia".

Anyway, the current version of the page is fine with me. Cheers -- Duesentrieb-formerly-Gearloose (?!) 07:48, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Idea re. "Crachi" article

Hi! I agree that the article is a clear-cut speedy in its current state and I'd never think of reverting one, but if you don't mind, the content was intriguing enough to make me want to Google it. It seems that it really is a very inexpensive chocolate bar made from local chocolate and marketed to kids. I'm going to take a whack at cleaning it up. Not much info, but there is some. Thanks! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:34, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

I think you're right, so go ahead and do whatever you want with the article. I'm sure it will be Wikipedia worthy in no time. --Ŵïllî§ï$2 (Talk!/Cont.) 17:52, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ASCII art on Wikipedia

I've reverted your change to the "warning" at Wikipedia. We really do not encourage that sort of ASCII art in articles. Please don;t reinsert it, its not helpful. Please see WP:BEANS amongst other policies and guidelines. Thanks, Gwernol 15:12, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

OK --Ŵïllî§ï$2 (Talk!/Cont.) 15:13, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User page

Please read WP:OWN - it is not your user page, it is Wikipedia's. Are you really saying that you are willing to ignore the rules if they are not full policies? Is that the sort of editor you want to be? Gwernol 00:14, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

WP:BEANS is far from "just a couple of guys". Its a long standing and widely applied rule. If you put inappropriate content on your user page it is entirely within Wikipedia policy for me to remove it. "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it. " That applies to every page on Wikipedia. Gwernol 00:26, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
I have told you why the content is inappropriate. If you don't understand why its a bad idea to encourage vandals like this, and why WP:BEANS is a good idea, then trust me, I am not your problem. When communicating with others, especially those trying to help you, I suggest you remain calm and avoid insulting them. Thanks, Gwernol 00:44, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] International response to the Beslan hostage crisis

Hi. Is there something that I should know about International response to the Beslan hostage crisis? It doesn't look like nonsense from a cursory glance. --B (talk) 20:58, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't really think the page has any importance, so I put a nonsense tag. If anything, the page should be simplified and added on its main page. International response to the Beslan hostage crisis was mainly just a collection of quotes without importance and links. --Ŵïllî§ï$2 (Talk!/Cont.) 21:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Jack Evans posing.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Jack Evans posing.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --Geniac (talk) 15:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Jack evans LA music awards 2008.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Jack evans LA music awards 2008.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by an adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 15:50, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy delete on Pink floyd and the beatles

Hi there, I've sadly had to decline the speedy here: {{db-band}} applies to performers only, not to albums or other products. If it did I'd have no problem speedying it, there's no assertion of notability. I'd suggest taking it to AfD - I daresay it would be snowballed there. I'd certainly say delete in that forum! Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 22:00, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Never mind - another admin has saved you the trouble and short-cutted to deletion. Not strictly per process, but I'm not going to complain! Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 22:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Jack evans LA music awards 2008.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Jack evans LA music awards 2008.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:31, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
