Since open proxies are favourite tools for vandalism, they are usually blocked on detection. To prevent the creation of vandal accounts, registered users operating from open proxies are blocked as well. Perhaps you might try using Tor (anonymity network) with the special settings outlined in Wikipedia:Advice to Tor users in China. // Pathoschild 21:08, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- OK, how should I reply to this? Can I do this by editing here? (I can edit my own talk page)
- I'll try Tor, but not now ;) Thanks anyway :)
- Yes, your talk page is on my watchlist. You're welcome. // Pathoschild 17:12, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
- I've downloaded Tor (too lazy back then), but I find that Tor is blocked now. Using a proxy like the one I am using now, I can't edit pages. There is a suggestion to use HTTPS access, but the page doesn't display correctly (Firefox 1.5.0.1, Linux) (the left navbar is put way below).
