These are really really amazing. Im not sure if you added them all, but the whole Severn Beach Line now looks great.

Thank you!

[edit] Qingdao

I saw that you have cleaned up the map of Qingdao I uploaded, it looks awesome. Good job! May I ask which program you used? I'm very much interested in cleaning up maps myself. E-mail me or respond to my talk page, if you have time. --Niohe 19:56, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks a ton!--Niohe 16:03, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bristol listed buildings & observatory

Hi, Thanks for all your pictures & other contributions on the Bristol listed buildings pages. I've today done one on the Observatory & wondered if you had any additional info or better pics? BTW I've put this one up as a candidate for Did you know. — Rod talk 15:07, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bristol buildings

Thanks for picking up my copy & paste error on Shakespeare Inn, Bristol. If you have the time & inclination could you take a look at Buildings and architecture of Bristol & comment/edit as appropriate, as I'm hoping to put this one up as a good article candidate soon. Thanks — Rod talk 11:48, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Updated DYK query On 16 May 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Frederick Bligh Bond, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] Brown Restaurant ? BB

Hi, Can I pick your brains? would you consider Brown's Restaurant Bristol Byzantine?— Rod talk 15:37, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks - can you take a look at Brown's Restaurant & revise as you think necessary?— Rod talk 15:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image River Chew

Thanks for advice on "{{PD-self}}" for Image:River chew.JPG but it still shows as orphan although it appears on River Chew, Geology of Somerset & Chew Valley. Any ideas?— Rod talk 13:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks - I hadn't realised that.— Rod talk 13:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] G and H Godwin

Hi Thanks for correcting my copy & paste error. Can you put names/links to G and H Godwin ? see Alderman Proctor's Drinking Fountain for refs etc. — Rod talk 18:19, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I hadn't noticed it, or I would have changed it - but hey, typos happen to the best of us. Incidentally, do you think my user page sounds snooty? --Will2710|Talk! 20:49, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I notice that this user is a former Pembrokian! Excellent stuff. Although I suppose for the sake of being even I should point out that you said 'the Babel one's' instead of 'the Babel ones' in your reply :P --Will2710|Talk! 21:12, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Now why doesn't that surprise me? I don't suppose you pay enough through the nose to them while you're actually studying here... how long ago did you graduate? --Will2710|Talk! 21:23, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gothic architecture

Thanks for your corrections. However, I'm in the middle of a major rewrite, as you will have seen from the history. Could you please not edit, while the inuse banner is up, because being unable to save ones writing is frustrating. --Amandajm 14:26, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] William Gilberthorpe

Hi there. I was dissapointed to see a request for speedy deletion of article; 'William Gilberthorpe'. Unfortunately the instructions on my talk page to contest the nomination are difficult for me to follow as I actually suffer from Dyslexia and have recently suffered a lapse in the disorder. I would appreciate your guidance with the matter. Yours faithfully Sheridan Smart

[edit] redSTAR link

Hi William, I saw that you deleted a link to our online Qingdao guide on the Wikipedia Qingdao article. I'd like to know why? I realise that the site is down right now (we are doing some maintenance work before we launch our new site) but it will be fully operational again within the next few days. We have been providing English language guide materials in Qingdao for four years now, and I believe that our site is a valuable link to have on this page. Rory luolei 10:00, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Yellowbellies?

I deleted the Somerset flag from shaftsbury talkpage; what's a yellowbelly? Perhaps Severn Beach is in Greater Somerset; I was living in West Midlands at the time, both got abolished. Now I just live in (shrunken) Somerset. Pyrotec 20:38, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Abdul Kalam

What is the reason for writing Hindi version of Abdul Kalam. Kalam himself is not proficient in Hindi/Urdu, though he is a Muslim. Also, Hindi version of the name is not there for other Indian presidents.

Cheers —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.241.196.137 (talk) 00:52, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

As explained in this edit summary. I consider it a desideratum for all the articles on presidents of India. William Avery (talk) 08:16, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] MfD Again (You voted before)

  • The article formerly known as VP:Admin Abuse is back up for a MfD, in spite of its new title and greatly expanded sections highlighting great admins. (The MfD is believed to be a veiled personal attack.) The new page is WP:What Were They Thinking? (or simply WP:WWTT). The deletion question is here. Please visit and voice your support or, if your opinion has changed, opposition to this article. As you'll recall, it was a UNANIMOUS KEEP the first time around. Thank you for your time. VigilancePrime (talk) 01:10, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A new Oxbridge user box

William Avery...I am currently in the process of writing a user box for all of the colleges that are part of Oxbridge. This template is meant to replace your current college template. Please take a look at the work in progress and comment on it. My main concerns are college abbreviations and color choice. I am using scarf colors for the colleges. Thank you. - LA @ 17:09, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RfC

I've started drafting a user conduct RfC that you might be interested in here. There's a lot of evidence to sift through and present, so I think it will take awhile to get it put together. If you'd like to participate, please feel free to do so. Cla68 (talk) 07:50, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Age of Enlightenment

Hi William, Spotted your new Enlightenment dabs per Albert Schweitzer, - well done. Just looking at 'Age of Enlightenment' article, the opening says first that it is a movement in philosophy (which sounds like a miss for sense) and then that it is an 'age'. I realise such an article is likely to be closely watched and don't want to start up a mare's nest: as you seem interested, should we re-word this opening slightly to make it say something nearer to the mark, such as "'The Age of Enlightenment' is a term used to identify a phase in western philosophy, centred upon the 18th century, ...." or similar? Would value your response, best wishes Eebahgum (talk) 21:10, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Steineresque! Shall I have a go, or will you? Eebahgum (talk) 21:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
