[edit] License tagging for Image:Gogogadgetmobile.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gogogadgetmobile.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:05, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Talk about the WDHV logos

Since we can't discuss them on the talk pages for the articles, I thought, maybe bring them up here.

I need to tell you that the FBI warnings have been on videos since 1978. Yes, I am well aware of the blue screen with the arial font (it's on the Cartoon Classics tapes), but the early warnings were on blue background with Times New Roman font. The blue FBI screen sometimes has a dark red background.

I am well aware of a variation of the 1986 WDHV logo with a "presents" below. I saw this on a Schoolhouse Rock tape. I uploaded a version with no volume on youtube.com. Have you seen this on any cassettes? Because I am going to a thrift store soon.

Hey! I know you! You're DanDMan16! Skymac207 17:47, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Also, I went to this website that showed two screens. First, the orange FBI screen saying, "Duplication in whole or in part of this videocassette is prohibited," and also the same words on the green FBI screen. Have you seen these on a cassette before? I assume it's on version two of the Robin Hood print, since the green FBI screens were introduced on that one.

It is. It also shows up like that on the Lady and the Tramp video, where it just does "Licensed for private..." and then "Duplication in whole..." --Wile e2005 14:02, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Strange, my Lady and the Tramp print shows the FBI warning and the "Licensed" screen. Imax80 20:35, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

The 1981 video release of Dumbo (since I own it) has something odd on it. First, there is a red FBI screen from the early 1980s (a switchover from the blue one) and a blue warning screen after it. The early videos (1980-1983) have the MPAA rating on a blue screen after the "Neon Mickey" logo.

On the first Cartoon Classics series, there was a cut-off version of the Neon Mickey logo with the slogan, "The magic lives on." During my visit to a thrift or collectibles store someday, these cassettes are on my mind-

  • Robin Hood 1991 with green FBI screens
  • Volume 1 of the Sing-Along Songs (December 1986, a rarity)
  • Any tape from the original Cartoon Classics series (1983-1986)
  • The Black Hole 1980 VHS (first ever by WDHV)
  • A Dream Called Walt Disney World 1981 (I can't resist, I heard it's extremely obsolete)
  • 1991 reprints of 1980s Black Diamond editions (the only one I have is Dumbo with the ink on the cassette tape).
  • Black Padded Clamshells of Dumbo, Robin Hood, and Sword in the Stone (I only have Pinocchio)

Wile e2005 please upload 1992 version black diamond logo clean music on youtube.com. Just for me and other people please!

If you find out about the rare logos and FBI screens, please tell me. Imax80

Wille 2005, Imax80 is saying that green FBI screens came out in 1992. Is he right Wille 2005?

[edit] Have you been banned from youtube.com?

Hey wile e2005, I went ot youtube.com to watch that Robin Hood parody you recorded, and it wouldn't let me, and your account said you have been suspended from youtube, why? Imax80 22:41, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't know. I think it could have been a video I uploaded or something. Besides, I wasn't really suspended... I was EXPELLED. :( --Wile e2005 15:11, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Oh, that sucks. Can you at least comment on videos anymore? I mean, none of your videos were bad, I really enjoyed them, I think they got mad because of the Robin Hood parody. Some people can't laugh these days, ya know? I still use youtube.com. Imax80 00:17, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks. --Wile e2005 20:33, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
      • What were your favorite videos? I myself like the Robin Hood- Dude Looks Like a Lady skit, and the Sulley become the Cookie Monster, I was the first one to rate and comment that video. Imax80 05:06, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
        • I am not sure which ones I liked best, actually --Wile e2005 16:22, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
          • I'll start posting videos in October/November, that's when I get my camera or whatsoever. What do I need to post a video on youtube.com? Because my birthday is coming next month. Imax80 00:18, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
            • If you're recording stuff with a camera or whatever, you will need a video capture unit. --Wile e2005 01:22, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
              • Any suggestions on what kind of camera I should use, and what video capture unit is the best? And what do you do with a video capture unit. Sorry for so many questions, it's because my video camera from the 1980s broke a long time ago. Imax80 14:58, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
                • I use a Hi-8 camera and Dazzle Capture unit. With that you record off of video cameras or VCRs or DVDs onto your computer to make clips. Try a digital Mini-DV camera.
                  • Thanks, because I want to videotape my drawings and do voiceovers and make a storyboard. To put a song in the background, I'll have to use the iHome I'm getting this October. Imax80 18:41, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About the 1989 releases of Dumbo and Sword

A link to the this is on my talk page, because Dumbo and Sword's new packages hit the markets September 1989, and use the old tape master. In 1991, they were replaced with the newer ones with the newer logos. Imax80 18:50, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Cool! So I have the 1989 version of "Dumbo." --Wile e2005 01:22, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Right you are. I have the 1991 version. Imax80 03:59, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

No, you don't! You & Imax80 have the 1991 version. Mr.Walker 17:24, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Will you shut up? I saw the 1989 ad, and you didn't, so zip it. --Imax80 21:33, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

In the words of Imax80, "A 1989 cover of Dumbo & Sword in the Stone, that's a lie!" Mr.Walker 15:23, 12 December 2006 (UTC0

I am telling you! The 1989 Dumbo/Sword cover thing is ALL TRUE!!! I have the 1989 version, since it has the newer cover artwork and the mid-80s tape master (the 1984 Classics logo fades out right as the music ends on this version), as well as a newer label for it (it's a white label with a newer "DUMBO" logo on it and a new font for "Walt Disney's" over it; the CLASSICS print logo and FBI legal stuff is still the same.

The 1991 version uses the 1989 cover artwork, and a newer tape master and label with white ink and uses the 1988 Classics logo.

But I don't get it why it says the running time is 63 minutes. It might have said that because they cut the RKO logo. If you include the FBI warnings and Classics logo, then the running time is 64 minutes, like the movie's supposed to be. --Wile e2005 15:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

  • What I meant was, you don't know him "in person." Besides, Wile hasn't visited here on anywhere else in a while. And I am not an idiot, so keep the insults to yourself. --Imax80 23:57, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't plan to have my revenge on him in person (although it would be nice to), I rather plan to have my revenge on him right here 'cause its easier! Skymac207 12:24, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Good news, Wile

I got the 1985 Pinocchio VHS in the white clamshell and the 1986 tape re-master. Now it will go great with the 1985 black clamshell which I have had since last fall. Imax80 20:30, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

That's cool! Of course, I got the 1993 version, because I used to rent that version from my local Blockbuster. But for videos with the 1984 Classics logo, I've got "Dumbo" and "Alice in Wonderland," and of course, "Lady and the Tramp." --Wile e2005 02:01, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Rental stores are always an excellent source for getting old Disney videos. My state gets a store called "Tommy K's Video" and the one in my town has a ton of old videos. This is where I got my 1984 "Robin Hood" print and my 1986 "The Sword in the Stone" print. They also used to have the pink cover of Dumbo. They had several videos from the early 1980s as well.

Also, I heard tell that the 1986 tape re-master of "Pinocchio" holds the dark red FBI screens and the video dealer announcement, which also appears on my 1986 "Sleeping Beauty" print. I currently have all seven of the videos that use the 1984 Classics logo. If you need to know what's on them, there's the usual, red FBI screens, and then the cheesy logo. Although some copies of "Sword" have a trailer for "The Journey of Natty Gan" on it. --Imax80 02:49, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah & some copies of the 1985 edition of Pinocchio have a trailer for The Black Cauldron. Does anyone know whether or not some copies of the 1986 edition of Alice in Wonderland have a trailer for The Great Mouse Detective? Mr.walker 15:24, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Of course I know the answer: no. --Ryanasaurus007 03:46, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Also, do some copies of Sleeping Beauty have a trailer for the 1986 re-issue of Lady & the Tramp? Skymac207 11:41, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Where there any films released on the same day as Pinocchio, that use the 1983 Neon Mickey logo? Skymac207 18:14, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Obviously, the WDHE Neon Mickey from 1978 was last seen in 1983 or 1984. --Ryanasaurus007 00:59, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

I know that, I meant were there any titles that came out the same day as Pinocchio, but use the 1983 HV logo? Skymac207 17:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What is with youtube?

They are banning all my favorite videos, and coming up with excuses like "copyright infringement." What is that all about? Almost every TV show I upload is removed, or logo or anything else whatsoever. When I submit videos to youtube, I may want to submit a logo, so I might to put all the copyright stuff on it so I don't get expelled. --Imax80 21:31, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for submitting those pictures

Good job, Wile. I think you got them all. --Imax80 22:08, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, actually, not ALL of them yet. I have some friends that can help, though. --Wile e2005 22:14, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Still a very good job. Do you want me to submit any of my covers? I have the first three releases, Robin Hood on Beta, Dumbo and Pinocchio on VHS, all in their black clamshells.

BTW, the 1985 Dumbo cassette uses the Neon Mickey logo, strange isn't it? --Imax80 01:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah, that is strange. I imagine later prints with the black clamshell (from mid-1986) use the regular Classics logo. --Wile e2005 18:50, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
  • I think it was an urgent repackaging. Since Dumbo was originally in the WDHV in the 1980s, when they were mastering it in 1983-84 with the Neon Mickey, they were intending it to be a WDHV re-release, but as they staretd the Classics, I guess they were too lazy to change and put the Classics label on the tape and sold it that way, and not cutting out the "Walt Disney and Promo" which is at the end of it like the old one. --Imax80 19:32, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rare variation of "Sword in the Stone"

Hey, there was a version of "The Sword in the Stone" in 1988 where the heading read, "WALT DISNEY'S" along with the black words "VHS" was removed from the bottom. They did the same thing to the covers of "Dumbo" and "Alice in Wonderland", so you were right, those three titles had re-prints in 1988, but all the tape masters were packaged in the 1989 cases.

You have the 1988 tape variation of "Dumbo" and "Alice in Wonderland" since they don't have the black line in the middle of the label. "The Sword in the Stone" was the same way, but with "WALT DISNEY'S" as the heading. Ever see this version? --Imax80 20:47, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes I did. --Wile e2005 20:53, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Actually, Imax80, those 1988 copies of Dumbo & The Sword in the Stone are really from February 5, 1988 'cause 1. That was the 1st 1988 release date. 2. There were 1988 VHS, such as Walt Disney Mini Classics: The Wind in the Willows, Walt Disney Cartoon Classics: Special Edition & the 1988 print of Disney Sing Along Songs: You Can Fly! were released on that day. Same thing with your Lady & the Tramp VHS. That copy of Alice in Wonderland that has the 1984 FBI warnings slideshow, instead of fading, is from October 13, 1987 'cause I have a VHS Walt Disney Cartoon Classics: vol.9: Starring Chip 'n' Dale released on the same day & has that thing too. Skymac207 23:29, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Little Mermaid

I heard you owned a copy of The Little Mermaid with reformed art. If you have it, could you tell me if it has the vertical white label texture or the vertical silk-screening texture? 'Cause then I can indicate what the 1991 re-print has. Mr.sailor 10:14, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

The art isn't reformed. It's a rental copy, so it doesn't have the old label. It was copied from an official version of the 1990 print. --Wile e2005 15:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I see. I was actually wondering if there were any copies that didn't show the phallus. Mr.sailor 11:41, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Print Date

I have a question, what is the print date (print dates are on the bottom of the tape) of your Robin Hood cassette with the green FBI screens and the 1988 Classics logo? --Imax80 21:01, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I will try and look. --Wile e2005 23:59, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

I say it's September 20, 1991 'cause Jungle Book was one of trailers on Robin Hood, but was already out on VHS. Rescuers Down Under was another preview offered on Robin Hood and was coming soon. So, when Rescuers Down Under came out, Robin Hood was still in progression of editing and they decided to cut the previews out of there, replace the FBI warnings with new green one's because they had to and replace the cut-short 1989 WDC logo with the older 1988 logo, because it was the only one available at the moment. Skymac207 23:27, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Looney Tunes

I've managed to get myself into a revert war with some "loonies" over the point of trivia you entered on January 16th. I don't see anything wrong with it being in the article, and it's clear there is no actual connection... or is there? I wonder who named the "toonie" that way? Wahkeenah 02:21, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

I didn't submit that "loony toonies" thing! That was someone else. --Wile e2005 02:24, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:WaltDisneyClassics88-94.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:WaltDisneyClassics88-94.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. [edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Pinocchiofront.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Pinocchiofront.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:37, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Braindog.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Braindog.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 14:40, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:BertAndWolf.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:BertAndWolf.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:49, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:BertAndWolf.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BertAndWolf.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 20:04, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:PinnaclesStudioPlus10.7.jpg

I have tagged Image:PinnaclesStudioPlus10.7.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Jusjih (talk) 03:53, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

That image is no longer needed. I don't know how to delete files you upload, though. --Wile e2005 (talk) 14:04, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question

What makes you think that the Viacom "Wigga-Wigga" logo premiered in fall 1990 instead of January 1, 1990? Is it because you've seen something from early 1990 with the "V of Steel"? Gabrielkat (talk) 14:22, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

I remember someone posting on CLG saying that the print Wigga-Wigga logo debuted on January 1, 1990, but the animated version did not debut until fall 1990. --Wile e2005 (talk) 17:13, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
