[edit] The Future
[edit] Character of Ryan Mayford
It was confirmed on October 19 whilst filming was taking place, that the writers of the show had decided to write out the character of Ryan Mayford. He will not be involved in the show from Episode 9 of Season 7, it has now been confirmed that Ryan Mayford will be back towards the end of Season 8.
[edit] Character of Chris Bertish
It was confirmed on October 19 that the character of Chris Bertish would become a full main character starting from Season 8. It was said by a School M8S producer, "He will be around a lot for the final 5 episodes of Season 7. Starting Season 8, he'll be a main character." Rumours are circulating he could possibly become Coral's new love interest, after Ryan Mayford being written out.
[edit] Seasons 7-9
Season 7, 8 & 9 have all been confirmed, and will all air from September 2007 - July 2008. There will be three seasons of 14 episodes, so overall 42 episodes from September - July. The three seasons will definitely be based on Year 9 (9th Grade). There are rumours of another two-hour special in Season 9, with the storyline involving Ryan Mayford. This seems unlikely however, as Ryan Mayford is being written out in Season 7.
[edit] Season 10
Season 10 has been confirmed to be the final season. At first, it was thought that Season 10 would be based on the group's summer holiday, but it has been announced Season 10 will consist of 23 episodes and will air from September 2008 - May 2009. The first half of the season will be based on the group going through Year 10 (10th Grade), whilst the second half of the season will follow them through their final year at high school - Year 11 (11th Grade).
[edit] The Final Episode
The final episode of School M8S is due to be a two-hour special which will air in July 2009, and will be based on the character's Graduation from High School.

It attracted an average audience of 3.1m, the best for any digital channel series of 2007. It was based on the lives of the characters before they went to High School. However, the show was axed by E4 following contract problems. The show never aired in the US, but all 12 episodes are included in the Season 7 box set, on a double disc.

[edit] Future
It was reported in October 2007 that the show could be returning for a second series. The writers of the show held a meeting at C4 HQ on October 18, however it has been rumoured E4 will not be able to fund the project anymore, and following contract problems with the channel, it could be heading to either ITV2 or Sky One. C4 plan to hold a share in the show, however. It has been confirmed the show will not be brought to terrestrial C4.
[edit] Promotional Videos
School M8S has always had a promotion video which is aired heavily days before the season premiere. A trend of heavy computer graphics have been used in every video, using either strong bright colours or extremely dark themes.
