These templates were created for my personal use. However, you are welcome to use them.
Please note that the templates listed in the section Headers for my pages have my user page hard coded into them. You don't want them as is. Be sure to copy those and modify them to use your user name instead. Besides, you will probably want to customize them around to suit your tastes.
Other templates need a user name as well, but I was able to make that parameter for those templates. That parameter defaults to my user name, so you may need to pass another.

Request that users provide a edit summary when they edit. This template is specific to problem users. |
I have noticed you commonly don't enter an edit summary. This causes me problems. When I patrol for vandalism, I use the summary to make a preliminary decision on whether or not the post is a vandal edit or not. If the summary is present (or at least a section header, the part inside the /* */), I commonly decide the edit is legit and move on.
However, if no edit summary is available, I typically resort to loading the diff for the edit. This takes time. For that reason, if your edits are all valid, I ask that you provide edit summaries. For more on how to enter an edit summary, please read Help:Edit summary.
Incidentally, it is not just me that appreciate having edit summaries. When you omit your summary, you may be telling various bots that you are vandalizing pages. For this reason, please consider providing that summary. It is very important. You can enter that summary via the edit summary box on edit pages (as shown below).
The edit summary appears in black italics in the following places:
* Use the enhanced watchlist to see all recent changes in the watched pages, not just the last change in each page.

Request that user click the + tab to start a new conversation. |
As you may know, when you add new sections to talk pages like you did to create [[{{{1}}}#{{{2}}}]], it would help if you used the + tab rather than simply editing the last conversation. When I saw you posted in [[{{{1}}}#{{{3}}}]], I thought you were replying to {{subst:#ifeq:{{{1}}}|User talk:Will Pittenger|the earlier post. Hence, I had troubles establishing the correct context for your post|me}}.

Inform the user that he or she has fair use images on their user page that will need to be removed as per Rule #9 of the fair use image rules. |
I found you are using the fair use images listed below on your user page. As per Rule #9 of the fair use image rules, you will need to remove those image. You can link to them, but not display them. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
If you don't understand why this is nessecary, you can ask the administrator Durin. He is better at explaining the problem than I am. You could also go to the policy portion of the village pump and ask there.

I will probably check back in a day or so to verify the images were either removed or converted into links. If you need help making the change, let me know.

Welcome a logged in user. This template specifically states that I patrol for vandalism. It also states that I probably noticed they had made a change somewhere but they had a red linked talk page. There is no shortcut for this item as I use George Money's Auto-Welcome JS Script. This version is intended for users that log in. For IP users, use {{User:Will Pittenger/templates/Welcome IP}} . |
[edit] Welcome...
Hello, Will Pittenger, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some useful pages to help you get started:
I hope you'll enjoy contributing as much as I do. When posting on discussion pages, please sign your messages. To do this, type four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!
You are seeing this because in my patrols for vandalism, I saw you had edited a page. I also noticed that your talk page (this page) had a red link. That meant that the talk page didn't exist yet. I am sorry you can't eat the cookies, but they are still fresh. If you find a way to enjoy them, let me know. Will (Talk - contribs) 07:04, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome... I would prefer you logged in, but welcome anyway
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.
Currently, you are editing without an username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in an username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is Will Pittenger). Logging in does not require any personal details, and there are many other benefits for logging in.

Detemines the name of the country from a code. Note this relies on a series of templates that aren't listed here in the interests of space. You can find the complete list on the template's page. If a nation is not yet supported, you can add it in my namespace by asking for it on my talk page. I'll create a starter page and you finish it with the instructions I provide. The template also supports using templates from another user's namespace. |
