Talk:Willie Nelson Biodiesel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If you remove the Proposed Deletion tag without correcting the NPOV issues first, I'll put this article for AfD the same instant. The fact that it appeared on Popular Mechanics (on an advertisement page?) once does not excuse the fact that this article contains very biased (if not false) unreferenced statements and nothing else. Thel link to www.heraldsun.news.com.au at the bottom of the page is broken. -- Femmina 02:48, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] No Different than Shell or Exxon Mobile
Although I probably couldn't edit this page to improve upon it, I would like to argue in defense of keeping the article. While the current edition of article could use some help, and does take the form of an advert, BioWillie is a true corporation operating in Texas (if not other states). I would request that this article be cleaned up, but not deleted.
- Heavily biased and misleading statements like "BioWillie [...] enables renewable fuel production in America, thereby relaxing dependence on foreign sources of oil" must be removed and since the article is 5 sentences long and the other 4 are no better than this one, it must go for now. -- Femmina 06:56, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

- What?
- Willie Nelson Biodiesel is the name of an American company started by popular songwriter Willie Nelson. - factual
- The company produces a biodiesel fuel called BioWillie made of soybean and other vegetable oils that can be used in modern diesel engines instead of regular fuel without vehicle modifications. - factual
- This enables renewable fuel production in America, thereby relaxing dependence on foreign sources of oil. - somewhat POV, I've replaced the verb in an effort to improve it
- Nelson has said, "There is really no need going around starting wars over oil. We have it here at home. We have the necessary product, the farmers can grow it." - quotation
- The fuel is mainly distributed in central Texas. As of June 2006, there were 18 outlets in five states (per the BioWillie website). - factual
- One sentence is POV, one sentence is a quote, and the other three are facts. How does that warrant deletion rather then correction? -Seventh Holy Scripture 11:00, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- And that's the whole advert^H^H^H^H^H article. Meaningless it's the word that come to my mind. -- Femmina 11:31, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- What?
[edit] The New York Times
The company received coverage in The New York Times. See the reference that I added. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 10:32, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- The fact that the company may be somewhat notable does not address the vanity problem. I don't have a problem with BioWillie in particular, it's just that I want all this biodiesel and "renewable" energy craze^H^H^H^H^H scam out of wikipedia. -- Femmina 11:45, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
