With regard to italicization, the usual (which I assume is also the Wikipedian) way to refer to short works (poems, short stories) is to enclose them in quotation marks, while longer works are italicized.

In this case, I believe that the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry is given for the best book of verse by a single poet, rather than for a single poem. -- Someone else 02:57 Jan 5, 2003 (UTC)
