I'm guessing that the "ab." in "(ab. 1080-1155)" etc. is for "about"? If so, you need to use "circa" for this, usually given in Wikipedia, it seems, as "c." - though "c.", "ca." or even "circa" are also found out there in the real world, with the italics, especially "c."! Hope that helps...? And, when you say "The Earl" died before he could take possession of the Honour, presumably you mean the Earl of Chester...? Sure - both errors. The 'ab was how they wrote it in one source, the c. in another; I wasn't 100% sure they were interchangable.
