I replaced an inaccurate version with material I gleaned from reading a 1978 book on travelers' accounts of Arabia. I will be uploading a map as soon as I scan it. Zora 00:52, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

1. Yes, he did join the Jesuit order, but he was never ordained a priest. He later left the Order.

2. Yes, he did renounce the Catholic Church at one point, but he was reconciled to the Church in 1884 and died within her.
