Article policies

I think that whoever initially wrote this was probably trying to write an article about William Forster (judge), in relation to the article about the Northern Territory Supreme Court (there was a link from there), but accidentally got the wrong William Forster. I think it is easy enough to confuse the two, and then also to confuse it again with the former governor general. All 3 are basically legal professions, and it is imaginable that someone could have done all 3 - been governor general, chief justice and state premier.

Anyway, what we have now is a situation where we now need to write all 4 biographies and then have a disambig page. I filled in this on here, and did the judge one, but this needs to be moved to William Forster (NSW premier), as well as having a disambiguation page. This guy was important though, and it is worthy to list him in the encyclopaedia.

Anyone willing to tidy this all up?

Or alternatively we could just delete this biography and move the judge one to here.

I've created the disambig page, but this article needs cleaning up from the dump of 1940s text, and the judge one needs wikifying. I don't intend to do those in the forseeable future. Particular things are to replace q.v. with wikilinks to the right people, and merge info from other sources. --Scott Davis Talk 11:11, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Why do I have to tidy it up? Can't someone else? I thought this was a group effort? :). Oh well did what I can with a few links thrown in. 203.122.218.47 13:30, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

It is a group effort. However my interests don't generally extend to either NT judges or NSW premiers. If you'd picked an SA premier, I'd probably be interested in helping. You are welcome to find someone else interested in helping these articles, or if you want, leave them and see when some other editor finds them in a cleanup project and helps out. In general, we have not simply copied text from PD sources until we have time to make them look like Wikipedia articles too. --Scott Davis Talk 14:11, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Well, I am not interested in either of these people either. I was just filling in links as best as I could. I was just trying to write a bit about the judge for the Peter Falconio trial, and it led to the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory which then led to a link to William Forster, which was the wrong one. I actually didn't really want to get too much in depth. So I will leave it at this, and let someone who actually cares about the topic clean it up. I am still not convinced that the article as it stands requires clean up though. I think it says all you need to know about him as it is. What else do you need to know? 59.167.139.163 14:20, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
