[edit] Difference with National Governors Assn. page

This page from the National Governors Association gives very different birth and death dates, and says he was chief justice of Virginia after he would be dead by these dates. What is correct? Rigadoun (talk) 19:36, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

This article is correct. The National Governors' page makes the common error of confusing Virginia's two prominent William Flemings of the era -- the other is Judge William Fleming, who never served as governor. I'll make a note of it in the article. —Kevin Myers 03:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
