Talk:William Brown (fictional boy)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are too many pages for this topic. They should sensibly be merged as follows:
- Just William - main page, linked from
- William Brown (disambiguation)
- this page - merged as proposal into Just William
- Outlaws (fictional characters) - already speedied into main page
- William Brown - individual books on their own page, linked from Just William
- William Brown - television series, etc linked from Just William or maybe on that page
There is an existing category for this topic and it needs looking at. It lists all the books and thus there should be articles for all the books, or the category needs pruning. My own take is that although these books are important in their own context, that context is currently not seen as being that important; however, in the long term, as a mirror of family, cultural and political issues of their times, seen and interpreted through the eyes of a young boy, makes an encyclopedic treatment arguably irresistible as a social document. And that's without the entertainment value of the stories themselves.

In my opinion, we shouldn't merge them, just add to them. It might take time, but we can do it! User:Midnightblueowl
