[edit] Notable?

I added a PROD tag to this article but I see that was taken down. Looking at Wikipedia:Notability (academics) I don't see how the article can stand. The one book Dr Bain has published does not appear to me to be of "general" interest and as far as I can tell from the article he meets none of the other parts of the Professor test. Brilliant fellow, nice guy all that I am sure, but not within the parameters of an encylopedia it seems to me. I thought I would raise this concern here rather than starting an AfD in case there is something I am overlooking or in case someone wants to add content with sources that changes things. I will watch here for discussion before AfDing. --KenWalker | Talk 06:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

I agree: if this scholar gets in then pretty much everyone holding a university post ought to get a Wikipedia entry. I vote for deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.189.28.38 (talk) 18:15, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
