Talk:Wildlife of the Indian Subcontinent
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Please do not delete this article as traditionally Indian wildlife is looked upon and categorized as "Wildlife of the Indian Subcontinent" being much the same for all of the countries in the subcontinent. Indian subcontinent includes area en capsuled under Himalayas and the Indian peninsular. Wildlife of all these countries are known as "Wildlife of the Indian Subcontinent" and is mentioned under this category in books, surveys and research papers. So this is a legitimate and traditional category to classify the wildlife of this entire region since times of British India when the pioneering scientists and naturalists who started work to scientifically record it and its distribution classified it as such.
Even the Wildlife books published today in the region include all of "Wildlife of the Indian Subcontinent" to enable them circulation in these countries which share much of their common wildlife.
