I uploaded this picture on 12/18 after doing a Google Images search and finding no other acceptable alternatives. I didn't correctly read the fair-use tag, so I didn't put up the second tag until today. My initial reasoning on the main image page (which still stands) is below:
- photo copyright © Dorothy Alexander — but a Google Image search shows that there appear to be no photographs on the Internet giving a clear picture of this major American poet's features. Not one. Other photographs are either very obscure or very small. If any show up on the Internet, this picture should be deleted here and replaced by another. Noroton 21:44, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

- In principle, as long as he's alive, a free image of him could be taken and posted. The question is whether he regularly makes public appearances. To judge from the biography at http://www.poets.org/poet.php/prmPID/121 he has lost the ability to speak, which I imagine puts a damper on public appearances. I'm inclined to believe the image is not replaceable by a free image. —Angr 20:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
