[edit] Tweaks
Hea, Ral, I know you didn't write this wording, but I find it strange ...
- The Wikipedia team that carries out the assessment and quality control before conferring the status of featured articles promoted five ...
Wikipedia team? FAC is a process, but there isn't a "team" per se, and "quality control"? ... I'm a bit confused by this wording ? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:30, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Out of 12 articles chosen as part of the project, five are currently GAs and one is an FA. Before the project began, a few of the twelve, including El Presidente, did not exist.
And two more are currently at WP:FAC (Mario Vargas Llosa and The General in His Labyrinth). SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:33, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps you can wikilink to the Dispatch discussing the other four articles here:
- ... before conferring the status of featured articles promoted five articles to FA status at the same time ...
That's all from me :-) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:36, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ral, I went ahead and made these adjustments; not sure if you intend for others to edit this page, but I'm sure you've busy. Revert me if needed. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 05:01, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] "312 Spanish Literature class"
I know what a "Spanish Literature class", but what's the "312"? --Dweller (talk) 10:14, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's the course number. Let's see if I can fix that... --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 10:32, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. Is this a (US? international?) standardised numbering system? Intriguing. Bet we have an article on it. --Dweller (talk) 10:42, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm. Found Course Reference Number (CRN), which is horrid, but specifically refers to five digits. I'll keep looking. --Dweller (talk) 10:43, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I give up. --Dweller (talk) 10:47, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- (edit conflict:) Nah, I think each university devises its own system, but there are often broad overlaps and similarities. North American courses are often three digits: 100 level being first year; 200, second year, and so on. "101," for instance, is often the most basic course in a particular subject. Hence one might refer to "Wikipedia 101." --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 10:49, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
