since mine
i've been having problems with the 'since mine' function not appearing in the toolbox. using firefox, i did all the usual stuff: unload and reload the script, refresh the browser, restart the browser, but no change...is anyone else having this? --emerson7 00:25, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Question
I just started using Twinkle. I looked at the documentation but I didn't see the part where it talks about customizing Twinkle. Is there a way I can customize what messages Twinkle leaves? I don't want it adding on a "shared IP" note sometimes. Enigma msg! 07:26, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Twinkle only uses the user warning templates and the messages as such cannot be customised. You can set showSharedIPNotice option so that it never shows such a message, but there is no finer control over the messages. --TheDJ (talk • contribs) 15:13, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Second question
Is there any way to not have certain pages watchlisted? This is more of a general question than a Twinkle question, but every time I report a vandal, WP:AIV gets added to my watchlist and then I have to unwatch it. I like to keep my preferences that every page I edit gets added to my watchlist, but I don't want high traffic pages like AIV on it. Enigma msg! 20:56, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
warning of whitelisted users
I've noticed that if you rollback an edit by a whitelisted user as vandalism, it will assume that the intent is to rollback the prior edits, which is great, because I find a lot of the vandalism on talk pages has been signed by User:SineBot; however, it then opens a page to warn the whitelisted user, rather than the real vandal. Couldn't it open the talk page of the user it rollsback, rather than the whitelisted user? I've accidentally warned SineBot at least once, most of the time I catch it now, but then I have to close SineBot's talk page, go back to the location of the vandalism and go back to the edit history if I want to warn, which is slower than doing the whole thing manually, except for the ability to rollback through SineBot's edit. Thanks.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 20:30, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- I also notice that it generates an edit summary stating that Reverting edit by User:SineBot identified as vandalism or words to that effect. Seems like if it knows who to really rollback, it could report it as such.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 00:31, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Help with config?
I am so sorry to bug y'all but I cannot seem to get Twinkle to behave the way I'd like...I'm trying to get it to stop putting everything on my watchlist that I revert or warn. It appears from the config page that I just had to put [], in watch reverted pages and change watch warnings to false? Help? THANK YOU! Here's what I've done to it:
revertMaxRevisions : 50, userTalkPageMode : 'window', showSharedIPNotice : true, openTalkPage : [ 'agf', 'norm', 'vand' ], openTalkPageOnAutoRevert : false, summaryAd : " using TW", deletionSummaryAd : " using TW", protectionSummaryAd : " using TW", watchSpeedyPages : [ 'g3', 'g5', 'g10', 'g11', 'g12' ], watchProdPages : true, openUserTalkPageOnSpeedyDelete : [ 'g1', 'g2', 'g10', 'g11', 'g12', 'a1', 'a7', 'i3', 'i4', 'i5', 'i6', 'i7', 'u3', 't1' ], watchRevertedPages : [], markRevertedPagesAsMinor : [ 'agf', 'norm', 'vand', 'torev' ], deleteTalkPageOnDelete : false, watchWarnings : false, markAIVReportAsMinor : true, markSpeedyPagesAsMinor : true, offerReasonOnNormalRevert : true, orphanBacklinksOnSpeedyDelete : {orphan:true, exclude:['g6']}

Not a bug, just a spelling error
When leaving a message on user talk pages regarding sockpuppetry, the edit summary mentions "sockpuppertering". Is that a word? Should it be "sockpuppeteering"? -- Roleplayer (talk) 21:39, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Twinkle Not Working
Question for anyone that can help. I have Twinkle installed on this account, and it works just fine. However, I just created a new account in hopes of using Twinkle to patrol with just the second account, but can't get it to work. Is there a minimum amount of edits you have to have, or anything like that? I'm stumped as to why it would work on this account, but not the other, with everything being the same... Thanks for the help! -- JTHolla! 21:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- I believe it won't work on a new account. Like a good wine or cheese, an account needs to properly age before TW will work on it. SchuminWeb (Talk) 23:30, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Ugh. That sucks. -- JTHolla! 00:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- If it needs to be autoconfirmed, you should be able to use it after 4days from the date of creation.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 00:30, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

SharedIP notice
I'm having trouble finding the source of the sharedIP notice Twinkle inserts when used to warn unregistered (IP-only) editors. It doesn't seem to be amongst the user talk templates. Can someone direct me to it, please? I'd like to look into possibly editing it slightly for more appropriate adjective selection. Thanks. —Scheinwerfermann (talk) 20:05, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think there is a template for this - I've looked before and failed to find anything. It looks like it is inserted by the script at User:AzaToth/twinklewarn.js near the bottom of the page. --Snigbrook (talk) 02:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Twinkle stopped working?
Twinkle appears to have stopped working for me since a few days ago. Whenever I try to Rollback an edit, I get "Reverting page: couldn't grab element "editform", aborting, this could indicate failed respons from the server". Why does this happen? I'm on Mac OS X with Firefox 3b4, but I also tried Safari with the same problem. This is the error message I get in my JavaScript Console:
Error: undefined entity Source File: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3ASandbox&action=submit Line: 159, Column: 99 Source Code: <input name="wpMinoredit" type="checkbox" value="1" tabindex="3" accesskey="i" id="wpMinoredit" /> <label for='wpMinoredit' title="Mark this as a minor edit [i]" accesskey="i">This is a minor edit <span id="minoredit_helplink" style="font-size: small;"> (<a href="/wiki/Help:Minor_edit" title="Help:Minor edit">what's this?</a>)</span></label>
The 'undefined entity' is the " ". This is caused by Firefox 3b4 for some reason; Firefox 3b3 is fine, though. Gary King (talk) 17:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- I get the same thing with Windows FF 3b2. I've reverted back to FF 2. --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 00:43, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- I too have same problems. I used Firefox 3b2 and updated as 3b4 few days ago. But since then, twinkle stopped working. I tried to work on article by using TW but it shows nothing but only this statement
Article modification: data loaded...
Info: Checking for preexisting tags on the article
Then stopped working. How can I rectify this?--NAHID 19:19, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Refer to Bugzilla@Mozilla The latest trunk release of Firefox 3 Beta 5 (download from FTP here) only fixes the first tagging process. It does not notify the original contributor on their talk page. Note usage of beta software, but developers of TW should look into the issue to see if they can get a viable workaround. - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 20:17, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Problem, or is it a feature?
Tried converting to TW from one of VoA's scripts but I don't like what it did to my watchlist. How can I remove it (I took it out of my monobook.js and that did nothing). Is there a way to make it only add tabs and not change the rest of the interface? if not how do I remove it entirely? Adam McCormick (talk) 22:46, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

CSD A7
Is there any particular reason that when selecting A7 from the list of speedy deletion criteria, Twinkle puts {{db-bio}} on the page instead of {{db-a7}}? Steve T • C 13:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
In addtition, there is a new CSD template for A7 biographies - {{db-person}}. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 10:23, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Disable the "SharedIPNotice"
Looking at the contribution histories of users who are using this tool, it appears that most are using the tool with showSharedIPNotice set to true. This is resulting in very frequent and repeated notices on vandal talk pages that "If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices."
That's a very friendly piece of advice and an appropriate thing to add to an anonymous user's page. But only one time. Adding it after every vandalism warning adds nothing to the discussion but does clog up the page. The repeated indents make it more difficult for future editors to review the list of warnings when trying to decide, for example, whether to escalate the warning or to impose a block.
In my experience, the majority of anonymous pages already have a shared IP template of some sort on the page. Adding it as part of the TWINKLE process is unnecessary. Please disable that part of the feature. Or, if it can't be disabled, at least move the comment to a single place at the top of the page rather than duplicating it with every edit. Thanks. Rossami (talk) 19:47, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- It can be turned off. I turned it off, for example. My issue is that I think it should be off by default. Like most things, the vast majority of people just use the default settings. Enigma msg! 20:00, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Having Twinkle issues today
I dunno if anyone can help from what I'm saying, but I tried twice to warn someone with Twinkle, and the changes never showed up. I haven't changed browsers or my monobook today. This was the vandal I was trying to warn. I tried twice to warn with Twinkle, and the edits never went through. I then had to manually insert a warning template because of this. I put an AfD on an article and it set up the AfD and warned the user...but didn't put the call on the article page itself...was I missing something? Thanks! LegoTech·(t)·(c) 16:46, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Possible Twinkle abuse?
Earthtried1985 (talk · contribs) seems to be a suspicious user, given that their first edit was installing Twinkle and spamming AfD with no fewer than six listings in two minutes. Given that this is the exact same M.O. as Basegirlball (talk · contribs) and Happygilmoron (talk · contribs), I believe that Earthtried1985 is a sock of indef-blocked Storyrates1987 (talk · contribs). Possible Twinkle Abuse by User:Diligent Terrier
Diligent Terrier (talk · contribs) appears to be misusing the script. Ive left several messages on his talk page, which he somewhat avoided, and eventually archives, i was not satisfied with his response, so ive brought the issue here. Here is a direct extract from the messages i sent to him;
-
- According to WP:TWINKLE, the script is to be used to assist them [wikipedia users] in common Wikipedia maintenance tasks and to help them deal with acts of vandalism, I fail to see how this, this, or this falls into maintenance or vandalism. To say that reverting a highly respected administrator, without any prior discussion, is any form of maintenance is downright wrong. I think you owe OIC, at the least, an apology. Twenty Years 17:32, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- Upon further inspection of your use of twinkle, i have found this diff by User:76.98.204.203, which you claim is Blaitant vandalism. It is hardly vandalism, the edit certainly did not add anything to the article, but that doesnt constitute vandalism. Not only did you incorrectly label their contribution, but you placed two user-warning tags on their talk page, when theyve only ever made one edit to wikipedia [1]. Continued mis-use of the twinkle script may result in you being "de-twinkled". Thanks. Twenty Years 08:30, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Further investigation of your reverts on wikipedia, led me to this this, whereby you reverted a user who removed a warning by a user and added content to his talk page. According to WP:TALK, this user is free to delete comments from his talk page:
- Users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages, though archiving is preferred. They may also remove some content in archiving. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user.
- You not only reverted his edit to his own talk page, but you then went ahead and added a user warning template, which according to the above, is downright wrong. It may be worth noting that after your warning on his talk page, he never returned, wikipedia relies on volunteers, and new editors should be made more than welcome, rather than being treated like he has. May i suggest that you remove the warning on his talk page and apologise. Your poor use of editing scripts is causing much concern to me, and some administrators, and you may wish to review your use. Thanks. Twenty Years 08:45, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Id like an experienced administrator to have a look at the issues here. Thanks. Twenty Years 17:26, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
This is not a forum to report eventual abuse, please redirect your statements to WP:ANI →AzaToth 18:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Right. Besides, one cannot be "de-twinkled" for abuse of the Twinkle tool. However, as AzaToth has already pointed out, there are other remedies for rogue editors, whether they use TW or not. SchuminWeb (Talk) 18:39, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

- Twenty Years has had it in for me ever since our disagreements regarding a WikiProject. After that he has been closely monitoring my edits (which he has admitted), and looking for something wrong with them. I use Twinkle to revert vandalism very often, and if people decide to disable my use of it, I will not participate in serious vandalism reversion ever again. Also, I did respond to those comments made. - DiligentTerrier and friends 19:12, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- It is also unfair for Twenty Years to say I archived his comments because I didn't. In fact, he did not even let me know that he was posting this here. - DiligentTerrier and friends 19:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Furthermore, I have notified Twenty Years about his own habit of being uncivil and not assuming good faith, and he has chosen to ignore me, saying that he will not respond. - DiligentTerrier and friends 19:16, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Question from Mr. Clueless
Is there a way I can disable the automatic adding of pages to my watchlist? The Dominator (talk) 22:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Click the My Preferences tab, then select Watchlist and check/uncheck as desired. -- Boracay Bill (talk) 23:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- You can read TW's documentation at Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Twinkle/doc#Configuration. Or, simply put, add the following to your monobook.js file (where you installed Twinkle, which you must do manually and not using the "Preferences" tab) and it should fix the problem for you:
TwinkleConfig = {
watchSpeedyPages : [],
watchProdPages : false,
watchRevertedPages : [],
};
If you do this, no pages should be added automatically (I believe). (EhJJ)TALK 23:36, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
