[edit] Templates page
I am working on creating the templates page, which will include of a table of current templates in use by this WikiProject. This will probably be my next sandbox article: User:Jamesontai/Sandbox09. If you have any suggestions for this page, please feel free to comment here or the sandbox's talk page as I edit. As always, comments, suggestions, and the like are always welcome! - Jameson L. - I have successfully transferred the former Templates section of the main WP:UNI project page to the Templates article. Also, I have updated the page with more categorizations, such as Project Banners, with General Project Banner and COTF Banner (in the future, when the Student Affairs Task Force has their own banner as well, we'll add it in), and added the University Chancellor infobox as well. If there are missing infobox listings regarding universities that you believe should be added in, please feel free to do so.
- To accommodate this new page, I have added {{main}} to the main project page to redirect them to the Templates page. Also, I have made a new shortcut that will redirect to the templates page. It is now WP:UNI/TEMP. I hope I didn't screw up anything. If you think I have made an error, please feel free to let me know.
- (NoeticSage, yes, I know I didn't add the example infobox for Infobox University. The Project sidebar was in the way, pushing the resulting sample infobox output to the bottom of the article, so I removed it. If you know a way around it, please feel free to add it back in. :-)
- As always, I welcome any feedback regarding my work! Happy Holidays! - Jameson L. Tai talk ♦ contribs 04:32, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Outdated templates
I'm wondering if anyone actually uses {{Infobox University campus}}, {{Infobox Universitydepartment}}, or {{Infobox World university rankings}}. They seem rather clunky and to almost contradict the infobox template and our guidelines. A university department should rarely have its own article, and the world rankings template appears to be only used on one article. What does everyone think about these templates? —Noetic Sage 06:23, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah I was contemplating about whether to include those links at all on the article, but I thought if I took it out completely...someone's going to complain...haha. Anyways, I'm perfectly fine with taking them all out... although I think the Campus one might be used for Honors Colleges or something (which, technically if they're off campus and they establish WP:N, then this infobox should be available to them. The department one should be deleted anyways... it looks... well... horrible. The World Rankings one is good if anyone actually cared to use that. - Jameson L.
