Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. states/Matrix
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This subproject of WikiProject U.S. states represents its intersection with WikiProject Portals and the WikiProjects for (potentially) All 50 U.S. states. The goal is to illuminate trends and track progress toward Featured portals using resources and criteria from the Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team.
In fact, this subproject also intersects WP:1.0's Work via WikiProjects subproject specifically where those WikiProjects are about places and those places happen to be U. S. states within These United States.
In the spirit of friendly competition, this very specific, USA-centric activity might also produce some diligence by identifying some leading WikiProjects. Each project is rated based on participation and activity, assessed value of the body of work like featured articles and good articles and how well they interact with other Wikipedians through their project pages and the General Public through their Portal.
A quick enumeration of what we have so far reveals that WikiProject Michigan is clearly in the lead. • discuss
[edit] About the PPP table
The PPP table in its current form is very primitive, that is, it has simply been primed with links to the obvious content areas. The red links tell most of the story.
The Version 1.0 assessment column links to the appropriate spot on "the real table" at WP:1, if one has been set up there. Inactive and non-existent U.S. state WikiProjects resolve to the top of the main listing which includes every place on the planet! (NOTE: It takes a while to load.)
That table is the one each Place WikiProject should be paying attention to; This one is simply a crude tool and novelty item.
Please participate at WP:1. Read all their fine subpages and get envolved. It's where we're headed, if we're serious about producing an excellent encyclopedia. There may be a better way, but I haven't found one yet. • CQ 12:57, 25 July 2006 (UTC) • WP:CBTF
