This page is a disaster. The tables are all messed up. If you give me green light I'll go ahead and fix this mess. Leave me a message in my talk page. Thanks. ~RayLast «Talk!» 23:15, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

What exactly are you complaining about? They look okay to me. RlevseTalk 00:19, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
IE7 does not like blank cells. Adding a non-breaking space will fix that. FireFox does not have the problem. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 00:36, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't see any blank cells, in IE or FF, but if that's all this is about, add them. RlevseTalk 00:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Not now, with the changes. But what is the stuff like <includeonly>[[Special:Whatlinkshere/Wikipedia:WikiProject Scouting/Userboxes/Girl Guide|Transclusions]]</includeonly><noinclude>''N/A''</noinclude> that was just added do? --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 00:45, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Finally done fixing it. Now it should be fine for both Firefox and IE. The transclusions links will only appear when included in another page such as Wikipedia:Userboxes/Interests#Scouting and what it does is allow people to know all the places the template is being used at. ~RayLast «Talk!» 00:56, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

What about "If you give me green light I'll go ahead and fix this mess."???? RlevseTalk 01:03, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

The difference here is you asked for a green light at 23:15 and started at 00:43 and yet claim you "got tired of waiting". Being bold is one thing but asking for a green light and waiting less than 30 minutes is bad taste and very impatient. RlevseTalk 01:15, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm so sorry for the terrible offense. I hope you will forgive my inadequacy. You can always revert my work until the green light is given. ~RayLast «Talk!» 01:43, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I do have a few nitpicks:
  1. Is there some project push to do this? If so, where has this been discussed so that we can understand what is going on?
  2. The code on this page was already rather complicated, and is now even more so. I think a template would be *very* useful to accomplish all of this.
  3. I can see where a link to see who is using the userbox is useful; but I don't see why it is transcluded so that the link does not appear on the main project page, but only on transcluded pages. Calling the link "transclusions" is not obvious to casual users.
--— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 11:22, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Ah- there is a template: {{Usbk}}. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 12:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
The link has been called "Transclusions" in all other userbox pages. You would have to convince a lot of people to change this. The title of the column does indicate the link will show you the Users. I still plan to simplify the page's code with templates, but wanted to make sure I had it straightened up first, so that changing to templates wouldn't be so buggy. ~RayLast «Talk!» 14:38, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Also, the transclusions links are set to not appear on the main project page because the project page has other columns that seem more important in its scope. On the other hand, some columns that are a great inclusion in the project page are not observed in any other userbox pages. You will never see a "Topic" or "Parameters" column in any other userbox listing pages, for example. ~RayLast «Talk!» 14:45, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
To bad there is no centralized discussion on this. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 16:36, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
We can do it if you want. What do you suggest? ~RayLast «Talk!» 17:36, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

How about:

Topic What to type Result Parameters

categories=no

Hey I like it! I'll do that. I'll also have to keep the transclusion appearance on other pages in mind. ~RayLast «Talk!» 20:50, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

I think I should include the "Topic" though. ~RayLast «Talk!» 20:51, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
And new users might not be so familiar with wiki markup and believe they have to type the category and link pages in. ~RayLast «Talk!» 20:53, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Right now, it uses a template from my user page. It needs to be moved to template space, documented and tweaked. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 21:10, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I'm done simplifying the code. Now you can just edit the table however you want. Try to keep the code that is in the <includeonly></includeonly> tags untouched so that the transclusions on other pages are not affected. ~RayLast «Talk!» 23:58, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
